Cannot report on a particular master server

OpsCenter Version: 7.5.0.7
OS: Windows 2003
NBU Master Version 6.5.5

Key details
- The master server is displayed on the main Monitor screen as connected
- The master server does not appear in the data collection screen
- The master server does appear in the Agent screen (I have deleted/re-added the agent successfully)
- I am able to drill down into the master server jobs, drives, media summary, etc from the monitor screen
- I am unable to remove the master as it does not appear in the list to remove
- I am unable to re-add the master because it already exists
- It does not have any aliases
- I have re-installed the agent on the master server, restarted all services (NBU & OpsCenter)
- I am a security administrator in OpsCenter

The master server is setup identically to all the other master servers in our environment and only this master is affected.

Has anyone come across this issue before?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am unable to view backup report for specific client from Opscenter Analytics.

Options selected -Using Report wizard -select Parameters-Client -Column(Client Name)-Operator(=)-Value(Not able to find the client in the list)

Able to view the same by selecting following options.

Options selected -Using Report wizard -select Parameters-Client -Column(Client Name)-Operator(contains)-Value(Client name)

Request you guide to resolve the same.

OpsCenter Report Total Number of Jobs for the Previous Month

I need to create a basic monthly report showing the total number of jobs that ran for the previous month.  It can be by master or media servers and doesn't need to take into account ignoring reruns, just need to show total jobs that ran for the previous month whether it failed or not.  I used the advanced success rate or another canned report the problem is it put commas in the job count.  For example 102,900 total jobs.  I need it to not include a comma as we import that number into another app and the comma is throwing things off.  My sql query knowledge is very green so was hoping someone can help me with a simple sql query statement to show total number of jobs for a month without a comma in the number.  Thanks.

Changed .csv format after upgr. 7.1.0.3 -> 7.6.0.1

The format of the .csv output file-name is changed after upgrade.

7.6.0.1 : OpsCenter_All_Failed_Backups_19_03_2014_07_00_58_494_AM_61.csv
7.1.0.3 : OpsCenter_All_Failed_Backups_19_03_2014_07.csv

How can I change it back to the "7.1.0.3-format" ?

An error when defining new alert in OpsCenter Gui

An unknown exception has occured. To continue, click on any tab.

OpsCenter drops connection to Masters

Hi All,

Need suggestions on possible root causes:

System:

Windows 2008 R2 Standard running OpsCenter Analytics v7.5.0.7

Running on a VM with 8 vCPUs and 32GB of RAM

 

The CPUs are almost all the time at 100%, caused by the  dbsrv11.exe process. At least, once or twice a week, we log in and find that all Master Servers (14) are disconnected, prompting us to restart OpsCenter.

Any suggestions?

Occupancy Report for a Site

What report in OpsCenter can I run to give me the total occupancy for a specific site (NBU Domain). Something like size of the Full backups, and the size of the data currently on tapes (storage).

Over time, these reports have increased to big numbers, is there any way, I can map Report Name, Which email DL this report going/configured ?  I'm sure this information is stored in some table, easy to write a simple query.

OPSCenter Servers in two or more sites

Hi all of you,

We have a customer with a large NBU platform distributed on several sites, with more than 2,000 client servers. The NBU platform includes several 5230 NBU appliances. Until now we have an OPSCenter server managing the entire platform, but we need o deploy a second server on another site for balancing and DR purposes.

Is there any experience deploying multiple OPScenter servers on a unique multi site environment? We need some tips about that.

Historical bar chart for total disk usage over time

Hello everyone,

I am using Symantec NetBackup OpsCenter for reporting specific trends within our Netbackup environment. There is a report, however, that I cannot seem to get out of opscenter. Not sure how I would go by doing this..

Basically I am trying to get a historical bar graph out of opscenter (not just a table) outlining the total disk usage in our environment used for backups over a set period of time (say two weeks?). X axis being the dates, Y being total GB usage of all storage pools. I can only seem to get tables from the canned reports, and no other canned reports seem to give me exactly what I am looking for. Has anyone been able to get this sort of thing out of opscenter reporting?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Netbackup Opscenter Database backup

Opscenter version: 7.6.0.1

Opscenter server: Win Enter 2k8R2

Team,

In my opscenter environment, I am presently backing up the Opscenter database to a local repository name "E:/DBbackup". This was done by scheduling dbbackup in windows scheduler. Netbackup then backup up the databases to datadomain. As the databases grow, my E:\ is also growing rapidly.

Question:

I need help with a script that will be use to delete this databases files in E:\DBbackup after the 2 stages backup above has completed. I would like to schedule this script in windows scheduler as well.

OpsCenter Daily Failure Report w/Filters

I am new to OpsCenter Analytics.  I have been supporting NetBackup since back when it was still spelled with lower case letters :)  We have always used a third party reporting tool, Aptare, but now we have OpsCenter Analytics and I'm trying to move all of my reports over from Aptare.  I'm on NBU 7.6.0.3 and OpsCenter 7.6.0.1 (which I should probably patch.)  I was able to get very granular with Aptare.  Before I spend a lot of time trying to do the same in OpsCener, I thought I'd ask if it's even possible.  Here's what I'm shooting for . . .

 

Failures in the past 24 hours from the time the report is scheduled to be mailed out.  And I want to exclude Statuses 0,1, and 150s; possibly others.  On my wish list, I'd be tickled pink if I could somehow filter out the failures that auto requeued and finished successfully.

 

Is any, or all, of that possible?  My printer is spitting out the last 120 pages of the 368 OpsCenter Reporting guide and I thought I'd ask before I sit down with my reading material.

Ops Center - Upgradation from 7.5.0.6 to 7.6

Hello All,

We are in the plan of upgrading OpsCenter version to 7.6 from 7.5.0.6 in our environment; I need assistance/some step by step suggestion documentation from you all to make this as a successful upgradation.

I need some project plan from your end on this upgrade activity if you have done this earlier in any of your projects.

Any tips for me as am new to this upgradation and also suggest me the latest patch on the 7.6 version.

opscenter server: Master servers partially connected

Opscenter server version: 7.6.0.1

OS version: Win2k8R2 Enter x64

Issue: Data collection Failed for: Scheduled Jobs, Retention Level

 

I presently have 3 master servers connected to my opscenter environment. Recently all 3 servers are showing partially connected: Data collection Failed for: Scheduled Jobs, Retention Level 

I had tried disabling and re-enabling data collections, but issues persisted. Closer look shows following errors applicables to all the 3 master server

Data collection has failed because of unknown reason

Please advice

OpsCenter Alerts on VMs

Howdy all,

 

Here's the basics...OpsCenter Analytics 7.6.0.1, NetBackup 7.6.0.1 on a Windows Server 2008 box.

 

I created an Alerts Policy for failed jobs.

Alert Condtion: Job Finalized

Selected job types: Backup, Backup From Snapshot, Catalog Backup, Duplication, and Snapshot (i'm guessing I'm missing a selection)

Include all exit status: Checked with Exit Status Excludes: 0,1, 71, 90, 150

Scope: All Master Servers

 

Everything works great but I'm not getting alerts for failed jobs on VMware clients.  And my daily failure report doesn't show a failed job if the failure was a VMware client.  What am I missing?

wrong media server in opscenter alert

Hi all,

 

I have a issue on opscenter 7.6.0.1 on Windows 2008 R2 and master server 7.5.0.6...the alert  "media frozen" reports wrong media server,

I restarted nbsl on Master Server and OpsCenter processes..but it didn't resolve ...

opscenter detailed policy info

trying to keep detailed policy information report through ops center.  What were looking for is policy name, policy type, policy keyword client name, schedule name, schedule type, and scheduled time.  We are looking for this to put on our sharepoint site to cut down on the number of "hey can you tell me the backup schedule for this client" I found the below link and it looks great but it doesn't have the schedule start time.  Can someone please help with this?  policy keyword isnt important is that can't be done .  Thanks.

OpsCenter Week at a Glance report always stop at 11:59:59 PM

The  "Week at a Glance" report always start at 12:00:00 AM and stop at 11:59:59 PM, while backups usually last all the night.

It seems that the  "*Start 24 Hour Day at:" parameter is ignored.

Is it possible to modify this behaviour ?

Size reports in OpsCenter... before or after dedup ?

In OpsCenter, "Job Size" report seems sometimes to be the size before deduplication ("scanned" count in job report), and sometimes the size after ("sent" count in job report).

I do not understand why this is not always the same value ... it seems to depend on the place where deduplication is done (on the client, on the media, on the master) and / or the version of OpsCenter ?
How can we always get the same value?
