OpsCenter Data Collection Error

Hi,

I have a new 7.6.0.1 OpsCenter running on RHEL, based in the USA, which will be used as a global OC as part of a restructure of the backup team in the UK/USA/AP, having addeed two 7.6.0.1 Master Servers and two 7.5.0.7 master servers I am having an issue with one of the 7.5.0.7 servers, it failes to complete the data collection for the BMR, Skipped Files & Job Throughput Data Type, I get the following error mesage Nbsl/Agent communication exception]: org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE: vmcid: 0x0 minor code: 0 completed: Maybe

At present the Master Server is also connected to a local UK 75.0.7 OC and this has no errors at all, could this be due to the NBSL process being hammered as it is on two servers and also uses SLP Duplication?

OpsCenter data import from 7.5.0.7 to 7.6.0.1

Hi,

As part of a global infrastructure change at work a new 7.6.0.1 RHEL OpsCenter server has been created and wil be used as a central OC for the Backup team; however, I currently run a 7.5.0.7 Wintel OC and this contains years worth of data and custom reports, I know that moving the data between OS is not a problem but this is when running the OC at that same resvision, also I beieve that there was a change to the DB structure in 7.6.

Is there an easy way to integrate both databases so at least I dont have to rewrite all the reports again.

OpsCenter - Client Failed Past 3 Days

Can I get OpsCenter to tell me if a client has failed backups the past 3 nights?  I can configure a report for a client that has failed 3 consecutive times but those 3 attempts could be in the past 5 minutes and show up on the report.  I need to know when a client's daily (Full or incremental) backups have failed 3 days in a row.  Does anyone have a report like this?

Could I create a custom report to have the media status (frozen suspended or full)  for every volume groups and display them?

OpsCenter drops connection to Masters

Hi All,

Need suggestions on possible root causes:

System:

Windows 2008 R2 Standard running OpsCenter Analytics v7.5.0.7

Running on a VM with 8 vCPUs and 32GB of RAM

 

The CPUs are almost all the time at 100%, caused by the  dbsrv11.exe process. At least, once or twice a week, we log in and find that all Master Servers (14) are disconnected, prompting us to restart OpsCenter.

Any suggestions?

I have a customer with large number of reports going out every day to different groups. Over time, these reports have increased to big numbers, is there any way, I can map Report Name, Which email DL this report going/configured ?  I'm sure this information is stored in some table, easy to write a simple query.

Ops Center / Virtual + Physical Client Reporting.

7.5.0.6 environment, looking to get some info from opscenter

 

I need to report a client count of physical AND virtual clients that have backed up within a given time frame (eg previous month). Currently there is a Virtual Client Summary page, which does all of nada for time-frame of backups.. just most recent backup.

 

Physical clients are reporting for everything else ,and virtual based backups are excluded from them... why is there no option to report on virtual based client backups if this a key feature!?! One canned report that's not modifiable doesnt make it very useful.

I would also like a way to parse through have it list the client names that it is picking up for the backups (short and FQDN mixed environment)

Additionally, I would like to have a seperate report generated that will give the listing of the first successful full backup, last successful full backup, and last successful backup of a client for both physical and virtual clients.

 

 

Bit of a rant, just frustrating it's so difficult to pull information if there's no client on the machine.

Is there a 'lite' version of OpsCenter which can allow me much greater notification (particularly via email) and reporting capabilities than what is presently built into NetBackUp 7.6?

Also, what are the system requirements for OpsCenter?  Can it run on a Windows 7 Pro (64-bit) workstation rather than on a full Windows 2008/2012 server?

ops center disk volume space low

Background.

All master and media server are 5230 Appliances.  Media servers all have Deduplicatoin disk pools.  ver 7.5.0.6

 

Issue.

 

In ops center there is alerting.  I want to setup alerting if a disk pool on an indiviual media server is low.  Say 18%.  I triedl Disk Volume Capacity alerting but that doesn't seem to watch the media servers.  It seems to report on the masters servers totoal availble disk space aka all media server combined.  Which would be fine if they all has a shared disk pool but each has its own.

 

Is there a way to get ops center to report on this.

I haven't yet figured out a way to rearrange the info blocks on the monitor -> overview page... is it possible? i.e. to put the ones I care about most at the top?

Just trying to get some understanding of how the OpsCenter 7.6.0.2 Server/Agent work together with my NetBackUp 7.6.0.2 server.

Do I need to install the agent on the NBU 7.6.0.2 server, or does the Agent also need to be installed on my OpsCenter server?

Plan of Upgrade OpsCenter from 7.5.0.4 to 7.6.0.1 - view builder

Hi,

I am starting to plan for our NBU upgrade to 7.6 etc and I need to upgrade OpsCenter first.

Our OpsCenter has viewbuilder installed but I dont think we are using it at present, The future maybe !

OpsCenter is currently living on a windows server 2008 x64 system and i have found  SORT and the installation guides suggest that view builder is not supported on this platform.

Can anyone shed any light on this matter.?

Is there an alternative to this ? Or do I have to migrate onto a different platform before I can upgrade. ?

Any advice welcomed.

How to purge data for a single client in Opscenter

We are seeing a client name showing in Opscenter that does not have any valid Data on netbackup side (either configuration or backup image data).

 

Is there a way to purge data for a single netbackup client from opscenter database?

OpsCenter Restore files not shown

Hi,

I have a strange problem with OpsCenter 7.6.0.1 restore function, when using the browse option a directory listing is not showing the contents, I can see the full directory and files if I use the Java GUI and I can also use the OpsCenter restore search option to locate a file within the missing directory listings.

This may be due to some of the file names that the MAC application creates which start with ._ but unsure.

I have attached a few screenshots in a doc to show the problems, I want to use the OC restore as I have a user that looks after the restore and it is easier to use the OC for this with selected views, also I cannot locate a MAC client for the Java GUI :-)

Admin console on OPSCenter server? Order?

So, I'm building me a new opscenter server, and it's up and running OK.  NetBackup 7.5.0.6

THEN I think to myself, I'd like a windows Admin Consosle on this box (windows server 2008, R2)

Well, you need the server install for Admin Console, so the latest one for 7.5 is 7.5.0.4 - the rest are just updates - (could be wrong)

But it won't let me install cause I have a 7.5.0.6 opscenter on..   says what I'm trying to install is older than what I have on.

Did I do this in the wrong order?

Hi, I have finished install Netbackup Opscenter and begining add master server but I am facing an error as below

OpsCenter-10905:Action not permitted. Please verify that the OpsCenter host is listed in NetBackup configuration file (host properties or bp.conf) and/or trust is established in case of NBAC.

 
I have open port 1556, 25, 162 on master server already.
 
I have already execute this command to add parameter on master server 

C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin\admincmd>nbregopsc -add se1-netbackup
Registering OpsCenter (se1-netbackup) with NB
Successfully registered

Registering NB with OpsCenter (se1-netbackup)
Failed to register NetBackup with OpsCenter.
Check to see if the specified OpsCenter is accessible

Please help!!
